ICU Nurse

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate **ICU/critical care nurse** to provide high-quality nursing care to a client in their own private home.

The successful candidate will be supporting an individual with a **tracheostomy and complex clinical needs**, providing safe, professional and person-centred care within a home environment.

Key Responsibilities

– Provide high-quality one-to-one nursing care in the client’s home.
– Manage and monitor **tracheostomy care**, including routine care and responding appropriately to emergencies.
– Monitor respiratory status, vital signs and overall clinical condition.
– Recognise and respond promptly to any deterioration or changes in the client’s condition.
– Support airway management and follow the client’s individual care and emergency plans.
– Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
– Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation.
– Liaise effectively with the family, multidisciplinary team and other healthcare professionals.
– Promote the client’s dignity, independence, comfort and wellbeing.
– Follow all clinical, safeguarding, infection-control and health-and-safety procedures.

Essential Requirements

– Registered Nurse with a valid **NMC registration**.
– Previous **ICU, critical care, HDU or complex care nursing experience**.
– Demonstrable experience caring for patients with **tracheostomies**.
– Excellent knowledge of airway management and emergency procedures.
– Confident working independently in a private-home setting.
– Strong communication and clinical assessment skills.
– Reliable, compassionate and professional approach.

Desirable

– Experience with ventilated patients.
– Experience in community or complex home care.
– Experience supporting patients with long-term respiratory needs.
– Paediatric experience, if applicable to the client.
