Job Details
Whitgift is one of Britain’s leading independent boarding and day schools for boys aged between 10 and 18 years, with approximately 1500 pupils and over one hundred boarding or flexi-boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Centre, providing high-quality clinical care to students, staff and visitors. Working as part of a dedicated team, the successful candidate will deliver first aid, emergency care and treatment for minor illness and injury, whilst supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of pupils and ensuring the safe and effective operation of the Medical Centre.
The role requires a confident healthcare professional who can work both independently and collaboratively, undertaking clinical assessments, managing medical conditions, maintaining accurate and confidential health records, administering medication and liaising effectively with parents, staff and external healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will also play an important role in health promotion, safeguarding, student welfare and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential through a coordinated approach to care.
We are open to considering flexible working arrangements, including job-share applications. Where successful applicants are appointed, then nurses who fulfil the role will be required to share regular hand over time between job-share partners to ensure coordination, planning and communication requirements are met. Saturday fixture cover may also be required.
In return, we offer a generous salary and benefits package, including a money purchase pension scheme (with Life Assurance), access to an Employee Discount Club, membership of a healthcare plan, discounted school fees for permanent posts within the Foundation, and a supportive working environment with opportunities for training and development.
We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our student intake. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short presentation and administrative assessment as part of the interview process.
