**Apprentice Dental Nurse (Level 3) – Full Training Provided**

Full-time – 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday

Do you want a real career, not just a job? We will train you to become a qualified dental nurse, and we pay you while you learn. You do not need dental experience. We look for the right attitude, and we teach you the skills.

You will work in a busy mixed NHS and private practice in the centre of Egremont. Our team includes dentists, dental therapists and dental nurses. You will see a wide range of general dentistry from your first week.

**Your training**

– You study online with Training 2000.
– An assessor visits you at the practice once each month.
– Experienced dental nurses mentor you in the practice every day.
– You complete your study in paid working time.

**What you will do**

As your training continues, you will learn to:

– assist the dentist or dental therapist during treatment
– prepare the surgery and clinical equipment before each patient
– clean, decontaminate and sterilise instruments
– follow strict infection prevention and control procedures
– support and reassure patients, especially nervous patients
– keep accurate patient records
– help with stock control
– help the reception team when necessary.

You always work within your level of training and under supervision.

**About you**

Essential:

– You are reliable and punctual.
– You are friendly and calm with patients.
– You are willing to learn and to accept feedback.
– You follow procedures carefully.
– You work well in a team.
– You can travel to Egremont for a Tuesday to Saturday pattern.

Desirable:

– Experience in care, healthcare, retail, hospitality or customer service.
– GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or higher.

If you do not have these GCSEs, you can still apply. We will check your eligibility with our training provider.

**Pay and benefits**

**Hours**

**Before you start**

The job offer is subject to an enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references. We will support you to get your Hepatitis B vaccination, which all dental nurses need.
