**£35,000–£45,000 DOE (FTE) | Full-Time | London NW6 | No OOH**
Ready to lead, inspire and make your mark?
**Love veterinary nursing but ready for more responsibility? Want to lead a team without giving up the hands-on clinical work you enjoy?**
At **Elizavet**, we’re looking for an ambitious, passionate and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us as our **Head Veterinary Nurse**.
We’re a growing, proudly independent veterinary practice in North West London, combining the personal touch of a local practice with the facilities, equipment and clinical variety of a much larger hospital.
We’re not simply looking for someone to manage a rota. **We’re looking for someone who wants to make a difference.**
Someone who will champion exceptional patient care, inspire the nursing team, bring fresh ideas and help shape the future of nursing at Elizavet.
Whether you’re an experienced Head Nurse looking for a new challenge or a confident Senior RVN ready to take that next step, we’d love to hear from you.

– **RCVS registration renewal fees paid**
– Company pension contributions
– Time off in lieu (TOIL) for weekend working
– Sundays and bank holidays paid at **1.5x your base rate, plus TOIL**
– Genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression
– A supportive, collaborative environment where your ideas and contribution matter
Big ambitions. Brilliant facilities. Independent spirit.
At Elizavet, we believe outstanding patient care starts with giving our team the right tools, support and environment to do their best work.
Our modern, purpose-built clinical environment offers a fantastic range of equipment and facilities, including:
– **Three operating theatres** and a dedicated dentistry suite
– **CT scanner**, digital X-ray and in-house laboratory
– **Separate dog and cat wards**
– Dedicated infectious disease ward
– **Hydrotherapy and physiotherapy facilities**
– Three consultation rooms
– A varied caseload combining first-opinion and advanced veterinary care
You’ll enjoy the clinical variety of a busy, progressive practice while being part of an independent team where people know each other, support each other and share a genuine passion for their patients.
Your role: Lead from the front
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend every day behind a desk.
With approximately **70% clinical leadership and 30% administrative responsibilities**, you’ll remain closely involved in patient care while taking ownership of nursing standards, team development and the day-to-day running of the nursing department.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
– **Lead and inspire** our team of RVNs, Student Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Care Assistants.
– **Stay hands-on clinically**, working across theatre, consultations, nursing clinics and inpatient care.
– **Champion exceptional patient care**, helping maintain high clinical and nursing standards.
– **Develop your team**, supporting training, mentoring, student development and in-house CPD.
– **Grow our nursing services**, developing nurse-led clinics and identifying opportunities to improve patient care.
– **Help shape how we work**, contributing to rotas, clinical protocols and efficient workflows.
– **Work closely with our Practice Director, Practice Manager and Veterinary Surgeons** to provide a seamless patient and client experience.
Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to help build a nursing team you’re genuinely proud to lead.
Is this you?
We’re looking for someone who brings clinical confidence, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for helping others succeed.
Ideally, you’ll have:
– **Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse** (essential)
– **At least 3 years’ veterinary nursing experience** (essential)
– Strong clinical skills gained in a busy veterinary environment
– Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
– A supportive, approachable leadership style
– A passion for mentoring, teaching and developing others
– The confidence to take initiative, solve problems and drive improvements
Experience in a hospital or referral environment would be particularly valuable.
**You don’t need to have held the title of Head Nurse before.** If you’re a capable Senior RVN who’s ready to step up, has natural leadership qualities and wants to grow into the role, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

**Location:** Elizavet, 228 Belsize Road, London, NW6 4BT
**Contract:** Full-time, permanent
